Using the Crowd to Turn Apps into Reality

January 3, 2012 By IdeaConnection

For some savvy developers applications are becoming the fast way to making a fortune. But if you’re unsure about whether your light bulb moments can be turned into viable and popular apps a new website has come to your aid, as it allows you to use the power of the crowd to improve and then fund your app idea.

Currently still in Beta, SellAnApp is for anyone who has an idea for a new app, and the service promises to provide you will all the resources you need to create your applications.

When you sign up to the site you can create one of three types of accounts:

Producer: someone who has a great idea for an app but does not necessarily possess the funds or the skills to make it a reality.

Wizard: a designer who can take raw idea material and turn it into a winning app.

Investor: anyone who has the funds to invest in the development of an app.

Users can upload sketches, stories, doodles and plans to the website for the community of app lovers to comment on and make suggestions. It is up to the app creator whether they accept any of the comments or advice.  They can also choose any of these contributors to form part of their app production team if they so wish.

Once a design is finalized, an app profile page is set up where members of the public and friends of the creator can help fund the app’s creation and spread the word about it.  In return for their cash investors will receive a share of the app’s eventual revenue. When funding is complete SellAnApp takes care of the app’s development

To find out exactly how the process works watch the short video below:

Although the app market is an incredibly busy one, SellAnApp offers a novel way for individuals or small businesses to get ahead with their app ideas. It takes some of the risk out of app development, potentially improves the quality of products and provides a supportive community and a new market ecosystem.
