A new startup is about to get off the blocks and it currently has no idea about what it will sell and to whom. But it will have 1,000 founders who will all pitch in their ideas and have a stake in the company.
GroupMinded is an experiment in crowdsourcing that will involve all founders in everything, from conception of the idea right through to how the product is packaged and marketed.
How it Works
Once the 1,000 founders are on board, the ideation process will begin by looking for a problem that needs solving and then figuring out how to solve that problem. Then a prototype can be built.
All along the way, founders will contribute through their insights, thoughts and votes. The goal is to create a profitable business venture and the product could be anything, including a physical item or even a social network.
The 1,000 founders will be required to spend up to about 20 minutes each week, responding to two requests for input. Ten percent of the company will be given to the 1,000 just for singing up and more can be earned along the way through individual participation.
The idea for the company came to entrepreneurs Ben Gruber and Nathan Cooper. They were inspired by the positive experience working with friends, family and community during their first venture.
GroupMinded has extended the registration period for the 1,000 founders to October 9.
