Seeking Novel Varieties of Plants for Ornamental Use
Prize: $2,000Contest Closed: Jan-31-16
The Challenge:
Syngenta, a leading ornamental plant producer, is seeking germplasm for various plants that meet the following criteria:- Not already commercially available
- Are available according to the Nagoya Protocol for genetic biodiversity
- For ornamental flowers, ornamental vegetables or other ornamental plants except trees, shrubs and cut flowers
The client is NOT seeking:
- Trees
- Shrubs
- Cut flowers
- Genetically modified plants
- Varieties that are already commercially available throughout the United States
The $2,000 prize will be awarded to the person submitting the best lead or referral.
Breeders will have the chance of their variety being considered for a licensing deal.
