IDEAnet uses discussion forums, chats and document sharing which allows its community to share ideas and knowledge and to enhance skills and generate strategies and innovations that will help improve health services in medically underserved areas around the globe.

Members are invited to collaborate on ongoing projects, or to start a project of their own. Each project is given a homepage that contains links and tools that are customized to the needs of the group, such as listservs, discussion forums, chat, address book and document posting.
