Problem Solver

Diana Matonis star Proven Solver

Provide realistic solutions and identify if idea is already under a patent or a new patent-able technology.
If idea is accepted, I am able to continue to the front end engineering design (FEED) that is crucial in determining the feasibility and capitals costs of a proposed new technology installation.

Areas Diana Matonis is Knowledgeable in:

Problems involving heat and mass transfer, fluid dynamics including particle-liquid-gas systems or non-newtonian systems, chemical synthetic pathways, chemical reactions, fluid dynamics, or rheology.
Numerical Software applications, numerical solutions, neural networks, unit operations, process design, process engineering, economic evaluations of technology
Currently using and continuing to develop trending analystics for stock and ForEx investments.

Techniques Diana Matonis Uses:

Chemical Engineers are trained to solve problems which it through a rational approach, but not all problems can be solved and decisions made by the unwavering rational approach. For example, the rational approach, described below, is often used when addressing large, complex matters in strategic planning.

Define the problem.
Examine all potential causes for the problem.
Identify all alternatives to resolve the problem.
Carefully select an alternative.
Develop an orderly implementation plan to implement that best alternative.
Carefully monitor implementation of the plan.
Verify if the problem has been resolved or not.

A major disadvantage of this approach is that it can take a long time to finish.
There is also the need to identify when an "organic approach" is more suitable. where the solution simply arises from the ongoing process of trying, rather than from having a fixed problem/solution path. A major advantage of the organic approach is that it is highly adaptable to understanding and explaining the chaotic changes that occur in projects and everyday life.

My Thesis for my PhD in Chemical Engineering was creating one of the first three dimensional Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) Model Software for the field verified prediction of three phase systems in a fluidized bed.

I am a process chemical engineer with specialized expertise and experience in programming and numerical methods (data analytics).

I am also hands on - I recently revisited the field and was the Plant & Asset (Capital Projects) Engineer overseeing all capital and operations projects of three Natural Gas Processing Plants along with an Acid Gas Injection Wells (Carbon Capture & Storage), and booster stations in the gathering fields.
