The Buzz around Boogie Wipes

Breakthrough:
These moist saline-infused wipes provide soothing comfort to raw red noses, replacing scratchy, irritating tissues.

Inventor:
Boogie Wipes, United States

The Story:
The Buzz around Boogie WipesPoor baby. Sore throat, nasty cough, and oh that chapped little dribbly nose.

Mindee Doney and Julie Pickens, are two moms who just didn't want to see their little tykes suffer any longer by blowing their stuffy noses on those scratchy, irritating tissues. Bulb syringes were difficult to use, and kids absolutely hate having saline squirted up their noses.

Their idea was simple – a saline-infused moist wipe that would actually provide relief instead of bringing more distress to little Johnny's raw, red nose. Not only were the wipes comforting, they also dissolved mucus. And kids loved their great smell: Great Grape, Fresh Scent and Magic Menthol.

Dubbed the (what else?) "Boogie Wipe®," these gentle towelettes are also hypoallergenic, alcohol free and contain aloe and chamomile to soothe those red, irritated little noses.

The inventive moms had no idea how to develop or market their invention, so they dug in their heels and did their research.

They went on the trade show circuit where they spread the word to thousands of moms, and where the media just seemed to gravitate towards their story.

On TV appearances they were able to spread the Boogie Buzz with such memorable quotes as, "Snot your average wipe."

As contestants on the Donny Deutsch show, they got two thumbs up from two savvy businesswomen who loved the packaging and thought they were a shoe-in to make millions.

In late 2007, Boogie Wipes® made it to the market, as their first order was shipped. These days Boogie Wipes® are available in more than 40,000 retail stores across the nation, an invention success story, if ever we've heard one.
