3D-Printed GO Wheelchair Offers a Custom Fit

3D-Printed GO Wheelchair Offers a Custom Fit
Jun-23-16
The GO Wheelchair from LayerLAB can be 3D-printed to provide a custom fit.

Developed in collaboration between the 3D-printing company Materialize and LayerLAB, the GO Wheelchair is made out of shock-absorbent thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and semi-transparent resin. To determine the chair’s design, the user first enters their biometric data into an app, which then creates a 3D design that suits the user’s individual characteristics.

In addition to allowing for a custom fit, the manufacturing process takes only about two weeks, compared to the eight-week turnaround for conventional customized wheelchairs.
