3D-Printed Textile Keeps the Wearer Cool

3D-Printed Textile Keeps the Wearer Cool
Nov-20-17
A new 3D-printed textile whisks heat away to keep the wearer cool.

Developed by a team from the University of Maryland, the thermally conductive textile consists of fibers made of densely packed boron nitride nanosheets that have been combined with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and then embedded in a polymer matrix. According to the team, the material is twice as effective at cooling the wearer as cotton, and requires no batteries or electronics.
