3D Video System Virtually Eliminates Blind Spots

Apr-14-15 The 3D-AVMS system eliminates blind spots by providing the driver with a real-time 3D view of the surroundings outside the car.

Created by SPTek, the system consists of four 190-degree camera placed at strategic points on the vehicle, and an on-board computer. As the cameras capture the environment around the car, the data is fed the computer and transformed into a 3D view that provides a view from just about every angle.

The 3D-AVMS system has already been installed on a tour bus, and the company hopes it could find its way onto consumer cars within a few years.
