ACES Skin Beats the Human Touch

ACES Skin Beats the Human Touch
Jul-22-19
The Asynchronous Coded Electronic Skin (ACES) exceeds human skin in its ability to detect touch.

The e-skin was created by a team from the National University of Singapore, and avoids some of the weaknesses of current devices by eliminating the usual network of fragile cables. Rather, the material is much more robust, with its sensor array connected via a single conductor. This allows the material to withstand damage while also detecting touch with a sensitivity one thousand times that of human skin.
