Adidas's 3D-Printed Bespoke Midsoles

Adidas's 3D-Printed Bespoke Midsoles
Oct-10-15
The Futurecraft 3D shoe line from Adidas will feature 3D-printed midsoles, offering an unprecedented, personalization never before available.

Currently in the prototype stage, the midsole was made using CAD software and the Laser Sintering 3D printing process, which melts together layers of powered material to create a flexible, breathable midsole that precisely fits the contours of the individual’s foot. Adidas partnered with Materialize to develop the midsole—which grew from concept to prototype in just two weeks—and hopes to see the product come to market soon.
