AirPurge IV Automatically Removes Air Bubbles in IV Lines

Oct-07-14 The recently approved AirPurge IV system is able to detect and remove air bubbles in intravenous IV lines without any intervention from the hospital staff.

Created by Anesthesia Safety Products LLC, the AirPurge System was designed for use in operating rooms or during patient recovery and can be used with a fluid warmer. The stand-alone device detects the air bubbles as they travel through the line and uses a pinch valve to re-direct the air-contaminated flow to a reservoir for collection and disposal. Once the device senses that the air has been purged, the IV line reverts back to normal status.
