Armored Sleeve Helps Prevent Confrontations

Armored Sleeve Helps Prevent Confrontations
Jun-02-11
The BodyGuard armored sleeve was created to help police officers defend themselves in violent and confrontational situations.

Designed by David Brown, a cameraman and musical producer, the sleeve is made of a hard shell that protects the forearm while weighing under four pounds. The BodyGuard supports a palm activated stunner, a video camera, and a laser pointer to help aim the video camera. Brown hopes that not only will the sleeve help to protect officers, it will also encourage an attacker to back down before the situation becomes violent.

The BodyGuard was tested last year during a mock prison riot, and a demo unit will be put into play in Los Angeles later this year.
