Auberon Exoskeleton Takes the Weight off Firefighters

Auberon Exoskeleton Takes the Weight off Firefighters
Apr-21-18
Firefighters may carry up to 90 pounds of weight, which can be exceptionally difficult when climbing the stairs of a tower fire.

Developed by Trigen Automotive in cooperation with Singapore’s Civil Defense Force, the Auberon Pneumatic Exoskeleton helps relieve some of that weight so the firefighter more easily carry out their duties. Powered by a pair of compressed air tanks, the Auberon’s pneumatic leg pistons reduce the weight on the shoulders by focusing the burden onto the footplate and through to the ground. The exoskeleton is fully mechanical, with no electronic components that could be damaged by heat and smoke, and can be quickly removed in case of emergency.
