The BioMimics 3D-printed organs from Stratasys can be used for both testing and training.

The BioMimics line, which will start with bone and heart models, are created using advanced medical modeling and 3D-printing techniques to most accurately mimic complex human anatomies. The models can be ordered by the institutions or company as needed, reducing the need for animal testing while also providing extremely accurate renditions for clinical training and pre-surgery prep.

According to Scott Rader, GM of Healthcare Solutions at Stratasys, “BioMimics is a revolution in medical modeling, capitalizing on advanced 3D printing techniques for clinically accurate representations of complex human anatomies – from microscopic patterns of tissue to replicating soft to hard texture of body structures."
