The Brainy Bike Light was developed with the help of scientific research, resulting in a light proven to grab a motorist's attention a split second earlier than conventional bike lights.

The bike light is based on Oxford University research, which proved that the human brain will notice known symbols faster than it will notice a generic light—particularly in areas already filled with a variety of lights.

Designed around this premise, the Brainy Bike Light features an illuminated symbol of a biker instead of the typical row of bulbs. In tests during nighttime traffic, motorists were able to identify the bike light as a bike light, rather than just another light among dozens of others, and were able to respond about 100 milliseconds faster. This faster response time is equal to about 1.3 meters of extra stopping distance for a car traveling at 30 mph—which could make the difference between a collision and a close call.
