ChroMorphous App-Controlled Color-Changing Fabric

May-16-18 The ChroMorphous fabric lets users change the color of their clothing with an app.

Developed by a team at the University of Central Florida, the ChroMorphous battery-powered fabric is woven with fibers embedded with micro-wires. When a current is run through the wires, the temperature changes just enough to trigger a thermochromic pigment to change color. The fabric color and pattern change can be controlled by an app, allowing users to alter their fashion at will to suit their mood.
