Connected Helmets Alert Cyclists and Drivers to Each Other

Connected Helmets Alert Cyclists and Drivers to Each Other
Dec-25-14
The connected helmet concept from Volvo would help reduce vehicle/bike collisions by warning cyclists and drivers of each other.

The proposed system would consist of a car and helmet able to communicate their location to each other using the car's in-dash system and a bike app such as Strava. Warning lights embedded in the helmet would warn the cyclist of approaching cars, and drivers would be notified via a heads-up display.

The technology will be presented at the International CES in Las Vegas in January, 2015.
