Dart is the World's Smallest Laptop Adapter

Apr-17-14 The small, lightweight Dart charger was created to minimize the size of bulky laptop chargers, ringing in at about a quarter of their size.

A group of MIT students founded Finsix with the goal of miniaturizing the chargers for all kinds of devices, and chose to begin with the laptop charger market—where they thought they could make the most impact.

The Dart charger, touted as "the world's smallest, lightest laptop adapter," weighs only 2.1 ounces and takes up 2.5 cubic inches of space. The team was able to reduce the charger's size by improving the switching cycle—creating a faster cycle that allows for a smaller transfer of energy during each cycle and allows the power converter to be much smaller.
