Device Turns a Cellphone into a Microscope

The CellScope is a mobile microscope that turns camera cell phones and Smartphones into powerful handheld microscopes.Researchers at the University of California have developed the device, which could give professionals the ability to diagnose diseases on site by photographing disease cells through the lens and wirelessly transmitting the images to laboratories.
The device is expected to be a major advance in the developing world and in home care as a diagnostic tool.
