The auto-dimming Drift light was developed to mimic the setting sun, fading gently to a dim glow to help ease the user into sleep.
Compatible with most standards sockets, the Drift bulb can be used in the same way as a regular bulb or can be set to two different auto-dim modes. It is equipped with a microprocessor that allows the user to choose the settings: one flip of the switch for normal mode; two flips for Midnight Mode, which dims the light slowly over 37 minutes; or three flips for Moonlight Mode, which dims the bulb slowly to leave just a faint, nightlight glow.
According to the developers, the goal behind the self-dimming bulb project was to create a device that is easy to use and install, and aligns with the way people usually interact with lights.
