Electronic Stickers Made from Peelable Thin Films

Electronic Stickers Made from Peelable Thin Films
Jul-17-18
Researchers have created electronic stickers that could allow any object to communicate with the internet of things.

The film was developed by teams from Purdue University and the University of Virginia in a ‘transfer printing’ technique said to eliminate several steps and costs. The method relies on using a single wafer to build thin films embedded with electronic circuits, which can be peeled off at room temperature when submerged in water. The technique is environmentally friendly, and the resulting thin-film electronics can be applied to an object to give it electronic features.
