FiLIP Smartwatch Keeps Tabs on Kids

The FiLIP smartwatch is a combination child-locator and limited communication device, designed to help parents and children stay in touch.Created as part of an agreement between Filip technologies and AT&T, the watch’s features include location detection, voice calling and direct messaging from the parent to the child. An app on the parent’s smartphone controls the FiLIP, which can be preset with five trusted contact numbers. The watch can also be programmed with Safe Zones, triggering an alert if the child leaves a designated area, and includes an Intelligent Emergency procedure that the child can activate by pressing a button for three seconds. Once triggered, the Emergency system will send a text to the parents, active an automatic location beacon and call each of the five programmed contacts until someone answers.
