Fire Starter Survival Laces

The Survival Laces from Wasatch Outdoors conceal an emergency survival kit—including a fire starter kit—in a pair of ordinary-looking laces.Already exceeded its funding goal on Kickstarter, the paracord laces include seven strands of nylon with a single strand of fishing line in the center; a red, waterproof four-inch strand of fire starting tinder; and a one-inch ferrocerium rod. The fire starter kid can be accessed by removing the steel aglet at one end of the laces, and the tinder strand was intentionally left long enough to allow for surplus for inexperienced fire-makers.
