Flexible Device Powered by Body Heat

Flexible Device Powered by Body Heat
Jun-26-17
A thermoelectric device powered by body heat could be the next step towards flexible wearables.

Developed by a team from North Carolina State University, the proof of concept thermoelectric device tackles one of the main obstacles of creating such flexible harvesters: reliable connections between the thermoelectric elements. The design uses the common alloy EGaln to make the connections between the thermoelectric ‘legs,’ which provides the required low-resistance connection along with the bonus of self-healing capabilities.
