Freitag F-abric Will Compost in Three Months

Sep-11-14 The biodegradable F-abric from Freitag will completely compost in just three months, yet is durable enough for everyday wear.

The fabric was born from the founders' desire to offer a sustainably produced line of work clothes to the Freitag employees. Unable to find a good provider, they created their own line with the goal of using only European-based materials and manufacturers. The resulting F-abric is made of hemp, flex and modal fibers and has been specially woven to encourage the composing process. The swaths of F-abric are sewn together with wood-pulp based Tencel yarn, the buttons feature a patented screw closure that allows them to be removed and used on another piece of clothing.
