Glyde Hand Truck Makes Deliveries Smoother

Glyde Hand Truck Makes Deliveries Smoother
Jul-29-16
Designed specifically for transporting heavy loads, the Glyde hand truck can move up and down stairs with ease and safety.

Marketed by Ello, the Glyde was created with an eye toward beer kegs in particular, which can be very difficult to transport up and down stairs. To reduce the amount of bumping and jostling that comes with typical hand trucks, the Glyde is equipped with treads that will fold down from the back at an angle. The treads are able to span two stairs, gripping them with its rubber belt, and the hand truck’s self-braking system will trigger if the truck starts moving too quickly.

The Glyde was first created in 2012 by a class at MIT, and has now been refined to be market-ready.
