Google Glass Helps Bring Smartphones into Focus

Google Glass Helps Bring Smartphones into Focus
Apr-26-16
An innovative Google Glass-based technology lets the visually impaired navigate their smartphone display with head movements and receive an enlarged view of the screen.

Developed by teams from Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Eye and Ear, the system was designed to make it easier for the visually impaired to use their phone’s zoom feature, which—though useful—can make it difficult to navigate the screen. As an alternative, the new application will communicate the image on the smartphone screen to Google Glass, allowing the user to control the bit of the screen that is zoomed in simply by moving their head, which makes orientation easier.
