Handlebar Moter Reduces E-Bike Falls

Apr-19-19 An innovative e-bike designed with seniors in mind places a motor in the handlebars to help the rider keep their seat.

Designed by TU Delft and Koninklijke Gazelle, the bike is equipped with a sensor that will track the bike’s movements and determine if it is danger of tipping over. If the system determines a fall is imminent, the electric motor in the steerer tube of the handlebars will activate and turn the handlebars to prevent the bike from falling over
