Helmet Sensor can Indicate when Concussion has Occured

Helmet Sensor can Indicate when Concussion has Occured
Feb-22-20
A Philadelphia-based company has developed a head impact sensor that can be affixed to helmets and indicate when an impact strong enough to cause concussion has occurred.

The sensor works by changing color if a major impact has happened, making it easy to tell if a player needs medical treatment.

Some estimates say up to 50% of sports-related concussions are undiagnosed. Employing the inexpensive sensor, which does not rely on electronics, could improve health outcomes for players.
