Hydrogen-Powered Hyundai Tucson Hits the Streets

Hydrogen-Powered Hyundai Tucson Hits the Streets
Sep-29-14
With the release of the hydrogen-powered Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell in select areas of California, fuel-cell cars may soon be gaining more commercial appeal.

The Tucson Fuel Cell is Hyundai's first zero-emission, hydrogen-powered vehicle, and the company hopes the California leasing option and the impressive service package (free re-fueling, home pick-up and delivery for maintenance) will help to bring more fuel-cell cars to the streets. The vehicle has a driving range of 265 miles on a single, ten-minute fill-up (EV cars take at least 3 hours to fully charge) and its only emission is water. And because sitting atop a hydrogen tank makes some people a bit nervous, the car has undergone an array of tests to ensure safety to both the occupants and the first responders.

According to test drivers, the Tucson Fuel Cell drove quietly and extremely smooth, with quick acceleration and a comfortable ride.
