Ideas Box brings Information to Refugees

Ideas Box brings Information to Refugees
Apr-17-14
During a disaster, access to information is almost as vital as food and shelter—a need the Ideas Box was created to meet.

Developed by Philippe Starck at the request of Libraries without Borders, the Idea Box was designed around six requirements; it had to be portable, global, adaptable, user-friendly and efficient to produce. The result was a system of color-coded modules that hold books, games, eReaders, cameras and creative supplies, and the modules themselves can be used a desks and chairs.

The hub of the system is contained in the yellow module, which also serves as a work desk and check-in location, and the blue cinema module is equipped with a generator to power the integrated display and sound system. Other modules hold IT devices and children's art supplies.
