Instabeat Goggle-Worn Heartbeat Indicator

Instabeat Goggle-Worn Heartbeat Indicator
May-02-13
Designed for swimmers, the Instabeat attaches to a set of goggles to let athletes check their heartbeat without breaking stride.

Currently seeking funding on Indiegogo, the Instabeat attaches to one side of the goggles, where an optical sensor measures the heart rate from the temporal artery. As an onboard microprocessor tracks the heart rate in real time, color-coded LEDs illuminate to let the user know if they are currently on their chosen heart rate (Fat Burning, Fitness or Maximum Performance). The Instabeat can also calculate the number of calories burned, while the integrated motion sensors keep track of breathing patterns, flips and the number of laps completed.
