A firm from Jerusalem, Israel called Oramed has developed a tablet form of insulin - because it is taken orally, it may offer patents an alternative that does not require daily injections.

In the new delivery system, the hormone's protein structure is protected by special adjuvants from destruction by gastric juice. The firm just reported positive results from clinical trials
