Jaguar's Bike Sense System Warns of Hazards using Intuition
Jan-28-15
Currently in development by Jaguar Land Rover, the Bike Sense system will alert the vehicle driver to hazards—particularly bikes and motorcycles-using an intuitive array of colors, sounds and vibrations.

While in-car bike warning systems are gaining popularity, the Jaguar system differs by using lights and sounds that the driver will recognize immediately as warnings—allowing for a faster reaction. Instead of the standard warning icon, for example, the Bike Sense will emit a sound like a bicycle bell from a speaker on the side of the car nearest the bike. In another example, a bike or motorcycle approaching from the rear will be detected and will trigger the driver's seat to "tap" the driver on the appropriate shoulder.

The Bike Sense system includes many more intuitive warnings, and its sensors can even detect hazards before they are noticed by the driver.
