JumpRoACH Leaps to New Heights

JumpRoACH Leaps to New Heights
May-31-16
The JumpRoACH is able to leap incredibly high, and then right itself to continue on its mission.

Created by a team from UC Berkeley with Seoul National University, the JumpRoACH is built around a body from DASH robotics. A system of joints and a DC motor that stretches the eight latex bands to create a precise amount of force allows the bot to leap to heights up to 9.8 feet, and attaching the system to a DASH robot extends its range. The JumpRoACH can also spread its exterior shell to right itself after landing.
