Kinsa Thermometer App Helps Slow the Spread of Disease

More than just thermometer, the Kinsa app works with an iPhone to keep records of the patient’s symptoms over time and help reduce the spread of disease.

Currently seeking funding on Indiegogo, the Kinsa app plugs into the headphone jack of an iPhone, where it takes advantage of the device’s processing power. The user can create profiles for each patient, allowing them to keep track of their symptoms and send the information to a doctor, if necessary. The app also allows the user to search the public health records for any diseases currently going around, and will provide recommendation for treatment based upon the user’s symptoms.

The team also plans to develop an illness forecast, which will let users check to see if they are still in the contagious phase of the disease, and when they can expect to be better.
