The KipsteR wristband will ensure you don't miss your favorite show (or your nap) by automatically recording the show if you fall asleep.

Created by a pair of teenagers as part of the Virgin Media Switched on Futures program, the 3D-printed wristband is equipped with a pulse-oximeter that can detect when the wearer has fallen asleep and trigger a TiVo unit to being recording. Other, more alert members of the house can then change the channels without disturbing the recording—or the person. The KipsteR can also detect when the wearer has woken, triggering the show to begin playing again.

The device could have applications beyond TV recording, such as turning off lights or heat when the wearer has fallen asleep.
