MM-Space Videoconferencing Responds to Head Movements

MM-Space Videoconferencing Responds to Head Movements
Apr-06-12
The MM-Space videoconferencing system includes displays able to physically move, mimicking the head movements of the person on the screen.

Developed by NTT, a Japanese telecommunications company, The MM-Space system records the faces and voices of the users, with each user appearing on a separate display. Face-tracking software captures the individuals' head movements, prompting the screens to turn left or right or move up and down. The displays are arranged in a circle with the background removed to help encourage the sensation of a real-world conversation.
