Moya Power Harvests Energy from Passing Trains

Moya Power Harvests Energy from Passing Trains
Feb-20-18
The innovative startup Moya Power has plans to generate electricity by harvesting the wind power of passing trains.

The Moya Power system relies on sheets of lightweight, flexible material able to harvest low-grade wind energy and vibrations, such as those created by passing vehicles. According to the team, the material could be installed in existing infrastructure, out of view, where it could generate ten percent of the energy per square meter that a solar panel can.

Currently, the Moya material is being tested in the London Crossrail tunnels.
