Smart materials have been limited to holding two shapes at two different temperatures, but now, researchers have discovered how to embed multiple shape memories into one object.

The Multiple Memory Material Technology (MMMT) can work with virtually any memory material, and can even be divided up so that different parts of an object take on different shapes at different temperatures.
