The Myo armband lets you control devices, such as drones, computers and X-wing fighters, simply by moving your arm.
Created by Thalmic Labs, Myo is embedded with electrodes that read the electrical activity in the wearer’s muscles as they contract and flex to make arm and hand gestures. The electrical data is then transmitted wirelessly to software that translates the movements into commands. Because the electrodes in Myo do not make direct contact with the skin, the device can be slipped on as easily as a wrist band.
The creators of Myo believe it could have a wide range of applications, including interacting with web browsers, video games and even small drones.
