Nah Yeah Buoy Warns of Rip Tides

Nah Yeah Buoy Warns of Rip Tides
Nov-21-19
The Nah Yeah Buoy invention helps reduce drownings by detecting a rip current and emitting out a color-coded warning.

Rip currents are one of the leading causes of rescues and drownings, trapping even a seasoned swimmer and pulling them far from shore. Developed to warn swimmers of these dangerous currents, the Nah Yeah Buoy system features a network of buoys equipped with integrated sensors able to detect the speed and strength of the surrounding water flow. That data is then translated into a warning for the swimmer, with a green light indicating safe, an orange warning to take extra caution, and a red light indicating do not swim. The information is also transmitted to lifeguards onshore, allowing them to take the needed precautions.

The Nah Yeah Buoy was recently honored in the James Dyson Award International Top 20.
