Nanoworms Send Updates to Diabetics

Nanoworms Send Updates to Diabetics
Feb-24-11
Nanotube microworms could be anchored in the body, monitoring chemical conditions or slowly releasing medicines into specific areas.

Developed by researchers at MIT and Northeastern University, the tubular microworms are easy to anchor in a certain area, compared to their smaller counterparts which often are swept away from their intended location. The microworms could be filled with a material that emits a fluorescent glow under certain circumstances, allowing for a constant and non-invasive monitoring of medical conditions such as diabetes.
