New 3D Process Could Lower Costs

New 3D Process Could Lower Costs
Nov-24-15
A new, lost-cost metal 3D printing technology based on wire deposition technology could make 3D printing accessible to more countries, significantly impacting the 3D printing industry.

The technology, developed by team from Cranfield University and the London-based IT IS 3D, uses a robot that guides liquid metal past a welding head and onto a surface. The method is suitable for scaling up, does not require complex robotics or expensive machinery, and can also produce large parts quickly.
