Parthenon Seawall Generates Energy from Waves

Jun-23-17 The innovative Parthenon blue energy seawall will generate power as it stems the crashing waves.

Developed by Waterstudio, the Parthenon seawall was so named because of its rows of rotating columns reminiscent of the ancient temple. Once installed in the harbor, the structure will harness the energy of the waves as they move past the columns, spinning the columns to generate electricity. According to the design team, the Parthenon seawall design is also more robust than standard sea walls, since it moves with the water instead of fighting it.
