Pecera Cleans Clothes with Robotic Fish

Pecera Cleans Clothes with Robotic Fish
Aug-15-14
The Pecera washing machine concept envisions using tiny robotic fish to clean the clothes without detergent.

Created as an entrant for the Electrolux Design Lab competition, the Pecera was inspired by the doctor fish--commonly used pedicure fish that feed on people's dead skin. The robotic versions, called Dofi, would be equipped with a tiny camera to locate the dirt and a sucker-shaped mouth to suction the dirt from the clothes. The Dofi would also be able to excrete an "alkaline liquid jelly" that helps remove the dirt without oxidizing the fibers of the clothing.

One standout of the design, besides using robotic fish to eat your clothes clean, is the machine's ability to be placed in any room of the house, where it will add a bit of flair to the décor.
