Petomato Transforms Plastic Bottles into Gardens

Petomato Transforms Plastic Bottles into Gardens
May-16-14
The Petomato bottle caps turn plastic bottles into tiny hydroponic gardens, giving small space gardeners—or classrooms—a chance to enjoy fresh herbs.

The Petomato caps are filled with a mixture of seed and sand and can be used with almost any water bottle. A filter built into the device will draw water up from the bottle and to the seeds, and the kit also includes a spoon for serving up the ideal helpings of fertilizer. The Petomato does require the gardener to tend to the plants by pruning, adding water and even helping with germination.

What a ripoff. They want $15 for a 1 cent worth piece of plastic and seeds that in the very best case, will never produce a tenth of its cost in fruit. Shame.
A scientific research paper describing such grow method and available on the net tells to not replenish the water, contrary to the instructions on this gadget.
