Phorce Bag Shifts Shape, Charges Gadgets

Nov-24-12 The Phorce is being called the “world’s first smart bag,” able to charge mobile devices and shift between backpack, messenger bag or briefcase forms.

Currently seeking funding on Kickstarter, the Phorce bag includes a 54 Wh battery and three USB ports able to charge three devices at the same time. It can be tethered to a smartphone with Bluetooth and the Phorce app, altering the user if the bag is about to be left behind, and will also send alerts to the phone when the bag’s battery is running low. The bag’s unique strap system allows it to change forms, and the 360 degree expansion zipper can be opened to create 240 cubic inches of extra space.
