The Pino electricity-free home appliance was created as part of a student thesis to demonstrate the benefits of eco-design.
The Pino was developed by design student Manuel Immler using CNC-cut wooden panels, brass gears and sheet steel. Sitting firmly on its cast iron base, the Pino is powered by a hand crank and can deliver speeds between 50 to 1000 revolutions per minute—allowing it to perform a number of functions including mixing, grating and whisking. The speeds can be selected via the Pino’s wooden dial, allowing the home cook to create their favorite dishes while also saving energy.
